The #RustlersHack Burger Challenge

The #RustlersHack Burger Challenge

BritMums has challenged us the #RustlersHack Burger Challenge! They wanted us to taste drive Rustlers Burgers by dressing it up til our hearts content. Well, challenge is accepted! Why you may asked?

Well, you know when you just don’t feel like cooking after a long day at work, or looking after kids all day long perhaps on a long weekend, or just after their long tiring day after their… school clubs, school runs, football practise, swimming lessons, book clubs, parent evenings, the list goes on – we juggles it all. Sometimes we just need a quick, convenient, affordable, and healthy meal solution that pleases the whole family. It is also a really great way to get the kids involved around the table and making sure plates are empty and tummies are full before you get back to your busy weekend schedules.

The #RustlersHack Burger Challenge

Evelyn and I took on this challenge and we’ve found it only took us between 2 – 6 minutes to make this delicious quick fix meal! Yes, you’ve hear that correctly – only 2 minutes for Evelyn’s burger and 6 minutes for mine.

This Rustlers Southern Fried Chicken Burger twin packs are a perfect when time isn’t on your side. They are smaller than the average burger (at just 140g each) and in convenient packs of two, they are ideal for little hands and mouths. Just 90 seconds in the microwave and then ready to add your favourite toppings – as what you like to your Rustlers to make it your own part of a balanced meal.

Here’s what in Evelyn’s Rustlers burger, (took 2 minutes).

  • Rustlers Southern Fried Chicken Burger
  • butter on bread
  • cheese
  • cucumber
  • spinach

Here’s what in my Rustlers burger, (took 6 minutes).

  • Rustlers Southern Fried Chicken Burger
  • Rustlers pepper mayo
  • butter on bread
  • cheese
  • cucumber
  • spinach, rockets, watercress
  • fresh tomatoes
  • sundries tomatoes
  • pan-fried aubergine slices (2 mins of pan-fried on each side)
  • English mustard

Yes, we’ve hacked it by adding these supper delicious toppings; adding the crunchy salads, the flavoursome of the sundries tomatoes, and soften aubergine slices, with Rustlers pepper mayo in between and ending it a kick of English mustard. This is what I call easy cooking with full flavour!

I’m glad to report that both Evelyn and I had both clean our plates! So its a big thumb up for both of us!

Lee often has these burgers at work as they are so quick. My kids love a good burger. We like to toast the buns and then have cheese, lettuce, cucumber tomato, onions and sometimes gherkins. Sarah #FabFridayPost

Oh yes! We’ve got some gherkins too, but I couldn’t open the lid! lol! x

Oh boy that looks so yummy! I love that she put some fresh veggies on her burger too; I can not get my guys to do that; luckily they’ll often eat a salad on the side though. #FabFridayPost

Oh yes, Evelyn likes her spinach. She is the opposite to your boys – she just won’t eat a side salad at all. lol! x

I love the idea of a quick burger! I love a good hamburger – bonus points for cooking it in the microwave. In Canada I don’t think we have these same options, but I’ll keep my eyes open!

Now I really want a burger! Being pregnant and its all cold outside, I can definitely see myself with one of those burgers enjoying a real girly movie 😀

When we do burgers at home, we always like to add our own favourite toppings, I think that’s key to making the meal a bit special and making the most of ready made burgers as well.
