If you’ve been following us on our YouTube Channel, then you’ll probably already have seen the sneak peak of what Baking Mad has to offer. If you haven’t yet, then click on the image below and it will zap you to find out what’s inside the box!

Baking Mad has asked us if we would like to host a party. And why not? We love a good party! Not only we love baking, we love love love eating cakes too. Plus, this would be a great opportunity to spend quality time with my little E&E.

.

Cupcakes

First up, we started with the making of the Super Hero Cupcake Kit. Both E&E thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, from measuring, mixing and eating them of-course! lol!

Big Superhero Cake

Next up, its the Superhero Cake. To be honest, I wasn’t too confident about making the big cake as I have tried so many times in the past and it has always been such a failure. I get a tad jealous when I go to other kids’ birthday party and their mum had baked their child that special cake from scratch. But not me. I can bake cupcakes yes – but baking big ambitious cake like this one has always been my hidden fear.

When I saw Baking Mad Cake Kit was accompanied with a clear and an easy to follow step-by-step recipe guide – it was such a relief. It was enough for me to get that confidence going, to start with my baking mad journey!

As seen earlier in our little video, the cake kit has already included many of the ingredients you need to get started, except the eggs and butter. But still I think it is so handy to have most of the items already in a package for you, saving you the headache running around all afternoon spent in the supermarket store looking for things you may never find or that you’ll bound to end up forgetting to buy something. It’s madness! Let’s save ourselves some sanity shall we.

I was really surprised on how well I did with the baking when the cake came out of the oven. Bravo me! And it smelt so good too. But as I tried to make the sandwiches, I did find the icing was a little bit on thin side. Luckily I had some spare in the cupboard to fill in the gap and spread across the outer layer. There was plenty of vanilla essence left over so I can keep this for my next bake.

Though I didn’t have a turntable, I was really happy with the end-result. It looked pretty ace to me! Baking Mad has gave me that confidence to bake big cakes. And no more I will buy. This will save me so much money when the kids’ birthday arrives.

The kids were so excited when they see the Superhero decorations and banners and they knew straightaway it was a Superhero Theme Party. Baking Mad also gave some ideas for party games too. We played the suggested Superman Kryptonite where all of the kids were really engaged and had lots of fun and laughter were had.

Everyone had enjoyed my lovely vanilla essence cake. The BOOM & ZAP Super Hero Cake Toppers only add the excitement for the children when I cut the cake and placed toppers on theirs. I’m please to report that it was gone within half an hour of the cut. Wow! This is a record for me!

The Superhero masks were a hit! It was so hilarious to see the kids running around pretending to be super hero themselves. The full action pack ended with a ballon given out each and some sparklers outside in my garden (a touch which I added of my own).

Overall

I must say, it was a successful evening. Baking big cake doesn’t have to be so stressful anymore. I can do this myself. I can host a good successful kids party too. Everyone did really had a super splendid time.

That night when I put Evelyn to bed, I asked her if she has a good time. She said:

Yes. I like party. I want a Superhero party for my birthday too. - Evelyn @bakingmaduk @talktomums #bakingmadwom #talktomums Click To Tweet

Actually, Ethan will turn seven in a couple of weeks, so guess who will be Baking Mad again!

Baking Mad is doing a discount of 25% on their entire website at the moment. The cake kit is now £33.74, was at £44.99. I think this is such a great price to try it out for yourself. It is such a great value from baking wise as well as entertainment.

Plates, goody bags, napkins, marks and bunting are extras but you want a show stopping theme party then it is well worth adding it. Again, with 25% off, this will bring it down between £4 – £10. Honestly, the kids have had an absolutely the best time.

Thank you so much Baking Mad for providing such fun. We needed a party to loosen our hair down once in a while.
