Yes! We Did It!
In my previous post I wrote about why I am doing the run. It is because the Government’s cut is affecting everybody including our children’s school. So I have teamed up with a group of Supermums at Ethan’s school, and embarked the Color Obstacle Rush 5K run on Saturday 3rd June.

So how was it?
Gosh me! I don’t think I was the only one who was so nervous at the start – as I have not done anything like this before. Yes, I admit I am a 5K virgin – so help my god! My heart was racing like hell as we approached the venue, Willen Lake, Milton Keynes.
We could here the music was pumping loudly and that made my heart race even faster. The moment of true is almost here! If you are a regular Facebook follower of ours – then you’ll properly already have seen my short footage on the beginning of the day. If not, then do follow us now! : D
Here’s a little video clip to sum up my day…

2 Things to be mindful of, if you are considering doing the Color Obstacle Rushrun…
I had a ride with one of my mummy friends in our team. The parking was ridiculous! People was parking everywhere! There was not enough parking spaces in the parking lot and was overspilling around the curve of the main road. Luckily, we were there before the spillage and found a space at the top of hill inside the car parking lot – we still have to pay and displayed though. £2.40 for 4 hours. Fair enough – but I think the people on the spillage side will be parking for nothing. Well… where else can they park?
We went to registered and got our t-shirts. We were told beforehand that you can not take participation if you do not wear some kind of eye protection, being sunglasses, goggle, etc. But you must wear something as the paint can get into your eyes while you do the run. So just to bear in mind if you wish to participate next year.
Verdict – Would I do it all over again?
Yes I would! I really like the relaxed atmosphere. It didn’t feel like a run / race at all. It was more of a fun run – where you can run and walk at your own pace. The obstacle run was really good fun and we love every minutes of it. This is a great event for a beginner like me!
I also like the venue. It was very spacious as it wasn’t an enclosed track as such you’ll find like a normal race/ run. You can see the relax atmosphere throughout the run encircling the park around the lake. There were people minding their businesses – having picnics; feeding the swans and ducks; even fishing; family cycling in groups, and/ or just having a stroll with their dogs. It was lovely. Thank goodness it was a sunny day.
Plus, within the park – there was also a water sport park area and a swan boat paddle area – where family can enjoy their normal day out. And a Go-Ape Tree-Tops Adventure style call Aerial Extreme too. I think we need to go back and investigate this place in more details!
So yes! We did it!
