Our Top Christmas Toys Selection from DreamToys 2017 Event

Our Top Christmas Toys Selection from DreamToys 2017 Event

Earlier the week, we had an email out of the blue from Britmums asking if we were available to attend DreamToys 2017 Event.

I wasn’t sure if we were going to go, as Ethan needed to be at school on Wednesday, which meant I had to drop him off and go straight to the event that is a train hop to London, and be back to pick him up in time when he finishes at 3pm. I decided to take Evelyn with me in the end – besides it will be fun, right?

Dream Toys Event 2017

We arrived there around 11 am. The event was already kicking off with Christmas music and big screen count down to Christmas. So no pressure then if you haven’t already sorted out your Christmas goodies for the kiddos yet (hence – that’s me! Ekk!). DreamToys marks the real countdown to Christmas and encourages gift givers not to leave purchases to the last minute in order to avoid disappointment.

As we had such little time, we decided to do a quick walk around at the venue first, which was held at St. Mary’s Church, Marylebone. The venue was perfect for hosting their the official toys and games Christmas Preview. This was my chance to see what will be the hottest toys this Christmas as I have no idea what to give Ethan for his Christmas this year.

With almost 80 new toys carefully selected by a panel of retailers made up of large chains, large and small multiples and independent retailers, this makes DreamToys one of the major media initiative run by the Toy Retailers Association and supported by members of the British Toy and Hobby Association today.

The Toy Retailers Association (TRA) acts as both a watchdog and persuader to ensure fair play for toy retailers and represents the toy retail sector on government panels and safety organisations in the UK.
…
Members include Toys R Us, Early Learning, Mothercare, Argos, Hamleys, Smyths, Toy Town, The Entertainer and many independent shops including members of the Toymaster and AIS/Playroom buying groups

I can see already that Evelyn will be a good mother one day.

So there you have it. There were many many more toys out there it was a little mind-blowing. I asked Evelyn what was her favourite out of the six toys above, she said the LeapFrog “Scoop/Learn Ice Cream Cart” Toy Set. I was rather relieved as this is a little more suited for my money pocket.

We also received a huge goody bag that is as big as Evelyn! lol! Because of this I will also do a separate vlog post for more Christmas Gifts Guide suggestions for you, but for now I hope this is useful little guide and you’ll find something you’ll like.

Wow. Looks like she had fun. I can’t believe it’s £100 for a doll. You can get a phone. I like the simple things like the tape, which you could get really creative with. I remember wanting a teddy that talked that was £70 and mum replied I’ll talk to you. #FabFridayPosts
