Blogger Recognition

blogger-recognition-award

It is so lovely to be recognised and nominated to do this  kind of things. I have to say I have been nominated several times last year and by pure laziness I have been avoiding it. So I would like to apologise everyone that have nominated me in the past and i have not responded to.

However, it all started with Lisa Pomerantzster, who nominated me for Versatile Blogger Award back in January. The following week I was then nominated by Elena from Spanish Mummy for Sisterhood of the World Bloggers tag. And now, I have been nominated by my lovely #FabFridayPost co-host linky Briann from Bumbi’s Mom. How lovely! I am very honoured. I guess… it does become like an addiction! 😉

The Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you and give a link to their blog.
  • Display the award on your post and write about it.
  • Give a brief history on your blog itself. See below
  • Offer a piece of advice to new and upcoming bloggers. See below below
  • Select 10 other bloggers you wish to nominate. See all the way below

How it all started

As mentioned in my Sisterhood of the World Bloggers tag

I have been meaning and wanting to blog for a while now as I have read so many wonderful stories out there that inspires me to wanting to write my own experiences too.

In 2014, I felt the hardship when we moved out of London. The move, finding the balance of an extrovert and an introvert toddler plus a newborn can be just a little too overwhelming to cope with at times. I had no one to talk to. Making new friends was hard for both myself and Ethan. We both missed our London friends immensely. Blogging was my way of an outlet. I want my Blog to be a platform of connection in all aspects of our lives to remind ourselves that we still and always have each other no matter what, whilst we are all learning to stride to settle in our new beginnings.

My tips for new bloggers

I have to say… I am rather a newbie myself compared to such pro-bloggers out there. I am still learning as I go along.

Briann has boiled it down to 3 sentences that I think it is spot on and I think everyone can learn from her blog too.

  • Get engaged. Connect with other bloggers by reading, commenting and responding.
  • Support new bloggers and learn from established bloggers.
  • Be honest. Write what you know, what you feel, and what makes you happy.

I do have one thing to add – I guess is to get creative – not just in writing but in whatever you do that you think would benefits your blog that you enjoy doing such as; photography, sharing reviews, sharing your best recipes, sharing your crafts activity with your kids; to co-hosting linkys, hashtags, etc… and keep at it – even when it means producing one post a week – then let it be one post a week. It does get easier and you’ll find the swing of it pretty soon.

My nominees

Polly, Our Seaside Baby

Min, Single Mum Speaks

Bella, Dear Mummy Blog

Lexi, Musings and Makings

Emma, Island living 365

Gemma, Colley’s Wobbles

[Sh]annon & H[enry] from Raising Shenrys

Janine from UNHINGED MUMMY

Josie, The Whimsical Adventures Of A Not So Supermum

I hope you can all join in – please ignore this if you have already been nominated – or not ignore and re-do a refresher one? 😉 I love to read up on you all! :) xx

Yay, thanks so much for nominating me! I haven’t been nominated for this one so will definitely *try* to do it! I am similar to you, I have been nominated for a lot and never get time to write them but will make a special effort this time 😉 It’s lovely to hear more about you. A move is always hard especially with little ones. Are you adapting more in your new town now? At least you are close to London so you can pop there regularly. Great advice too especially about the creativity! Thanks again 🙂 #FabFridayPost

I love reading ‘getting to know the blogger’ type posts. Relatively new to blogging I have to admit I struggle to remember who everyone is sometimes so it helps to try to build up a bit of an idea of the face behind the blog!

    • 25/04/2016 / 10:03 pm

It definitely does and I think linking up with lots of linkys also helps you remembered who’s who too. Good Luck with your blogging! 🙂 x

Congratulations on your nominations and of those I know of you’ve certainly selected good nomination choices. It’s certainly good advice to advocate things like community engagement to new bloggers such as myself. Thanks for sharing and hosting. #FabFriday

I’m finding a common theme among everyone’s tip for blogging. They all have to with making connections in way or another. Comments. Replying. Supporting others. And really, isn’t that a real life lesson? We get ahead in life with the help of others. Thanks for the linkup!

  9. 08/04/2016 / 4:43 pm

Thank you for nominating me! Very flattered. 🙂

  10. 08/04/2016 / 7:00 pm

Eeeeek! You’ve nominated me! That’s awesome 🙂 we’re still kinda newbie/hobby bloggers, so our tips would probably be along the same lines! This is a great challenge that gets lots of bloggers connecting. We’re on it….. #FabFridayPost xx Congrats on your new Tots100 score too 🙂 xx

I think those are some amazing tips! I’m just barely getting into the world of connecting with other bloggers, and it really warms my heart to see the friendships that have formed between so many. I hope to one day find fellow mom-bloggers who are like family to me! I think being creative is super important. You need something to draw your reader in, something that no one else has! This is a great post, and I’m happy to see you get recognized for all your hard work <3 #FabFridayPost
