A Photo A Day #EveryMomentCounts Challenge

We have been challenged by Families Online to capture #EveryMomentCounts with our family, and sometimes it’s the little moments that I’d treasure the most. Well – challenge accepted.

Here are the set themes to capture these moments:-

  • Together
  • Tradition
  • Laughter
  • 3 Things
  • Colourful
  • Love
  • Reflection

Together

After I came back from BritMums Conference, Evelyn noticed something different on my hand. I had it painted.

Yes, I never paint my nails – well, not since I was at school anyway.

These nails were painting 4 in the same colour and 1 in different colour on the ring fingers. They were for #AmINumber5 Campaign which talks about raising an awareness to help women recognise and understand heavy periods as a common condition which can be treated, empowering them to have informed conversation with their GP, if appropriate, and indeed to be confident in wearing white again. The campaign was organised by Wear White Again. The campaign aims to prompt thought and discussion amongst women… around whether they are one on five affected.

Now, of course – Evelyn has not reached that stage yet, but I do love how cute her little hand are when I got some nail paint and painted her nail – just like she wanted.

Tradition

It’s not really strictly a tradition, but when it comes to cake making baking – Ethan is always the one who end up doing it. For example, the other day, he’d only asked me if we can make some cupcakes for the #MacMillanCoffeeMorning for his school the night before. What can I say – his enthusiasm is high and I don’t want to crush that.

I don’t do so much cake backing now, as Evelyn has eggs allergy, but I’m in the process of finding/ creating some yummy eggless recipes for her to try.

Laughter

Parenting is really hard, but sometimes the laughter you get from these two are priceless!

…

3 Things

Tea, Sushi & Yoga – That’s 3 things right.

Colourful

After I went to BritMums Conference last week – I came back with a lovely drawing of a bird drawn by myself at the conference, at the Jennie Maizels Sketchbook Club area. Evelyn saw this and was intrigued – she also wanted to do one herself. I passed on my knowledge to her and she really got stuck in. Bearing in mind, she is only 3 years old, I still had to help her with the details, but I think she get the idea. She just loves painting now.

Love

That love of painting that Evelyn has grow and she now likes to explore with different materials and textures too. Here she uses wet wipes – laying it on the paining and pressed with her hands. The patterns that she got from it  was so lovely. She was so pleased. And I am so proud of her.

Reflection

I’d like to end this with a personal note – for me, there were two big moments in the past two weeks.

  1. Becoming a Kids Yoga Teacher.
  2. Being the new BritMums Charity Round-up Editor.

In two years of blogging, I never thought I’d come this far. Blogging has given me so much more than I can ever expected. I’ve written a post about these two reflections in more details. If you’d like to read more why they are important to me – please feel free to click on the points above.

I think I deserves a pat on the back. Well done me! 🙂

What a wonderful challenge; I agree that so often it’s the little moments that mean the most. I am intrigued by your daughter’s idea of using baby wipes with her art too.
