A Girly Morning In Little Hitchin

A Girly Morning In Little Hitchin

On Saturday 21st January 2017, Ethan’s usual Saturday Drama School started. But he was reluctant to go all because he wanted to spend all his time playing on his tablet! We eventually persuade him to go and told him that he would enjoys it like he usually do. With a grumpy face he still went.

Whilst Ethan was doing this things, I took this opportunity to spend some time with my little girl in Town. We went to the market and we bought some lovely waterproof tablecloth to cover the kids’ table as we bought an ex school one for a cheap price on Facebook.

Here’s Ethan using the table making some “Thank you” cards over a the weekend. I will be blog about this soon!

We went passed the Mary-Go-Round which I didn’t even know that it was happening there. After some begging from Evelyn – I gave in and let her have a ride and went on the giant bouncy slide too, as now she is big enough to go up all be herself. (I am so proud of her!)

When she had enough, I took her to feed the ducks. We discovered that the canal was frozen over! We’ve never seen the canal frozen up before. Evelyn was very surprised that all the birds, ducks, geese and swans could stand on ice! “Icy! Icy!” She calls out loud. She loves feeding the them. One of our favourite past time. I checked the phone for the weather temperature and it was -3°C!!

Once all the bird feeds were gone, we decided to stop at a cafe nearby that we haven’t check out before. It was fairly new. A Vegan cafe called “Chai“. I was rather excited. But before we went inside – we decide to make a quick cake shop stop next door. The cakes there were to died for! OMG!

Back to Chai – I decided to have some rice with cauliflower and salsa sauce. I also ordered a latte. They asked me which kind of milk I would like – as they have an options of variety of vegan milk. I went for oat – yes that’s right an Oat Latte! And it was rather delicious!

Evelyn didn’t really fancy any lunch as she was more interested in the cake. I did enticed her with a few small spoon of rice before she started with her cake. It was quite challenging to keep Evelyn entertained throughout but luckily there was a box of children’s books and games in the room. Evelyn had a rampaged through and that kept her busy while I was having my little treat meal.

After the meal, we went to the RSPCA shop nearby and Evelyn got herself a small My Little Pony for just 20 pence! I love Charity Shops.

It was a lovely morning – just us girls. I would like to try to keep this up very much until it is Evelyn’s time to start her Drama classes if possible.

It was also lovely coming home and hearing what Ethan has to say about his Drama class in the morning. I asked him “Did you have fun at Drama then Ethan?”. He simply replied “Yes”. (Well! What a relief that was!)

“See if you don’t go to Drama – then you’ll be missing out!”  (Hence, I was referring to the Chicky Buck Was Missing Out by Leann Harms & Danny Camacho Book that we only have read the night before.) And his eyes were wide opened giving me an eureka moment – “Ooh yeah.” lol!

Lovely photos of your girly morning. I like the idea of your bargain toy from the charity shop! When you have more than one child, time with just one is very precious. #FabFridayPost

Ah, this is lovely. It is great that you had a great morning together. I sometimes find that there are so many activities that we try to cram into our own and our kids lives. Sometimes they just enjoy lounging in their PJs until midday, pushing cars round the flat and then walking to the local garden centre for cake. I think I might do exactly that with Cygnet tomorrow. Thanks for your post. Pen x #FabFridayPost

Sometimes your local town is far enough for a little outing and charity shops were always a winner when mine were small for treats. #fabfridaypost

It’s so nice to hear about your lovely morning. Your photos are great! We used to spend time with our youngest when our older daughter was in dance but Rose was too young. Now they both dance so we get time without both of them sometimes, which can be nice too. Enjoy these times – they go by so quickly!

What a great day you had – it’s so important to have that one on one time, isn’t it? I should really do that with Leo as for the past few months, he always has to ‘share’ me with Max. I love charity shops too but haven’t been to one for ages! Oat latte sounds amazing – should try that at home 🙂 also, Evelyn is just the cutest little girl – love her curly hair 🙂 xx #FabFridayPost

Looks like you both had a wonderful time! Well done for braving the cold too, I couldn’t bring myself to venture us out past the supermarket last week, way to cold! #fabfridaypost

It’s funny – it didn’t feel like -3°C. I think because I think there were no wind blowing against us. But with all the running around after her – we warmed up very quickly. xx

One-to-one time has helped us a lot over the last few months, especially with my daughter (8) and my 5 year old son. Any issues seem to get smoothed over once we start pouring love onto them. Lovely photos!

haha I am surprised there were so many out in the cold! Since our little outings, I can see a little difference in the tantrum episode in Evelyn. She has began improving in her listening skills more – which is a relief! lol!
