#ExplorerKids – Round Up #45

Welcome back to #ExplorerKids Round Up!

Thank you very much everyone for joining us last week. For those that are new – then “Hello! Do come and join us here. Remember anyone can join in the fun, you don’t need to be a blogger.” 😄💖💖

Sarah @kippersandcurtains my lovely co-host and I love hosting this special hashtag. It is very exciting to see kids having such a good time exploring new/ old places from homeland and afar!

Without further ado here’s my favourite fours:#ExplorerKids – Round Up #45

At Hội An– Chuc Mung Nam Moi! Happy New Year! Tomorrow is Vietnamese Day and Tet celebrations to commemorate the start of the lunar new year, the Year of the Rooster. It’s the biggest celebration on the Vietnamese calendar and everyone is just that little more manic and rushed as it gets closer. Preparations have been in full swing here, flowers and cumquot plants to attract lucky bees are everywhere and the beautiful Vietnamese flag – bright red with the golden star in the middle – lines the streets. People have been coming out of their houses all day to put their flag out – they’re all on poles and stuck into upturned terracotta pots. Loving it 💕💕💕
⭐️
We’ve joined some of the traditions, Emmie had celebrations at school and dressed traditionally and sung Vietnamese songs, we bought a cumquot with plant for the guesthouse and have been giving out red packets with money to children and the staff at the guesthouse.

Tonight there are fireworks in the Old Town at midnight to welcome the new year but we will be snoozing as tomorrow we head off to Cambodge as Hoi An is ghost town quiet – Tet is all about family, and even now many shops are closed as locals travel to visit relatives or are home preparing for everyone to arrive. The weekend will be very quiet with everything shut and a focus on family being together. It’s so nice that everything stops for family 💙💙💙

This sound REALLY FUN! I want to be THERE!!
