Okay, so I started writing this post off with the title: “A Staycation at Blue-Ginger Gallery | Malvern | Worcester” – but as I got into writing I found myself I have a lot more to say, retrospectively I will dedicate another post entirely about “Our Staycation at Blue-Ginger Gallery”. Do keep an eye open! For now, I will tell you the reasons why this place is close to my heart.
I’ve been hesitating to write this post. It is not because we did not enjoyed our stay, in fact it is one of The Best place to stay in the World! But why the hesitation? This is because it is where I grow up – my first home in England. I hesitated because I have a fear of not doing it justice. But here we go…
During our Easter Holiday, I step back in time and visit my dear friend Sue Lim – the owner of Blue-Ginger. We’ve know each other for years!
Before Blue-Ginger was born, this place was Language School called “Home End Farm”. A Language school that provides knowledge and a fun atmosphere to young kids and teenagers. I was ten years of age when arrived with my elder sister and my elder brother. We stayed there from Easter through to Summer and dispersed to our designated boarding schools. It was not until after 18 months I went back to Thailand to visit me family for the Summer break, and there after before I return to my study again.
Sue welcome me with open arms. She has two boys. The oldest is 3 years younger than me. They are like brothers to me and I was like a daughter to Sue, and vice versa – I look up to her as a Mother figure. She was always there for me. She was there for my Sport Days; my Church Carol (yes – nods, I was in the choir); she would come to my school fates and my Parents Consultation Days. She would give me extra help with anything I had difficulties with at school. She brought me up as a teenager and my-oh-my was I a hand full!
But this place – this place gives me a resting place. It is somewhere I can rest, re-collect my thoughts and re-energised from my crazy world of mind. This place is far from special. This place is good for my soul.
When Ethan was born, I did not have to look far for someone to be Ethan’s God Mother. Sue was a natural choice for me. After all between her and I, she has the most experience with boys – and babies – and children. I was so thrilled when she accepted him as one of hers. Then came along Evelyn. It go without saying, Evelyn absolutely adore Sue to bits and Sue naturally reciprocate.
Thank you so much Sue for having us over the Easter Weekend.
We love you so much! xxx
